After the end boards and paper have been put on, the casings for the windows are nailed in place and the openings cut Y' smaller on each side than the dimensions of the window sash. The window casings are made of i^" lumber so that the sash will fit flush with the side of the building, thereby avoiding the necessity of battens other than the J" of siding left inside the casing.
