Followers of John Smyth, who came to Holland in1606, cast their lot with the Brownists and for a time Scroo-byites under Robinson also joined the group. Some ofSmyths congregation embraced the creed of the radicalprofessor, Jacobus Arminius of Leyden University, and theBrownists expelled them.
