London, UK. 6 February 2018. A banner in the colours of the suffragette movement has been placed on the statue of David Lloyd George in Parliament Square. It is 100 years since the Representation of the People Act was passed, granting some women over the 30 in the UK the right to vote for the first time but David Lloyd George was the Chancellor of the Exchequer who, at the time, opposed women getting the vote.
