The building dates to the 17th century and has three gabled bays to the south with a single storey porch to the right. It was formerly part of the Old Grammar School, before being turned into offices and a clubhouse, opened as an art gallery in January 2013, and most recently a bar and restaurant. It was also the home and birthplace of Thomas Chippendale.
