Seaton Carew near Hartlepool, north east England, United Kingdom. 9th, June, 2014. Not much time to enjoy a glorious sunrise for Seacoaler Peter as he works up a sweat collecting Sea coal at low tide on Seaton Carew beach just after sunrise. Once a common site along the north east coast prior to the mines closing, Peter is one of only a handful of Seacoalers left in the Seaton area. Washed up sea coal from old mine seams is loaded onto a pick up truck to be later cleaned and sold on to power stations.
