By means of web-bing straps attached to the side of the frame, in a right dorsal curve, one goingaround the left side of the pelvis and another around the left upper thorax, while athird pulls on the right side of the thorax against these as points of resistance,great force may be exerted on the spine, much more force than can be safely the patient lying prone on the webbing strips which are padded, the pelvicand axillary straps are adjusted to the proper tension and tied around the sideof the frame. A heavy pad of felt is then applied over the rotated and curved.
