Bruno Latour (born 1947), French science sociologist, anthropologist and philosopher of science. Latour's work has been mainly the study of scientific practice. His early works include 'Laboratory Life' (1979) and 'Science in Action' (1987), where he studied the habits and actions of scientists at work in research laboratories. His works are fundamental texts within the discipline of the sociology of scientific knowledge (SSK). Latour's later works include 'Pandora's Hope' (1999) and 'Reassembling the Social' (2005). For his theories, Latour was awarded the Holberg Prize in 2013. Photographed in 2012.
