Trade has been brisk here right along. Stock has not been overplenti- ful and on several occasions there was a scarcity in all lines. Eoses are fine, considering the dark weather, and there has been a genuine contest be- tween Bride and White Killarney, and between Maid and Killarney, with everything in favor of the Killarneys. The Brides and Maids were weak- stemmed and shy of bloom, while the Killarneys had good, strong stems and many more blooms. Carnations are also good, considering everything. The stock has been a little soft, but several of the traveling men said the flowers compared favorably with the best they had seen in their travels. The supply, however, has not been what it should be and all growers are away behind last year's cut. There has been a good demand for sweet peas and the supply at times is much short of the demand. Valley has been a good seller of late, with a fair supply. Tulips, narcissi, daffodils and cut hyacinths are coming in quite heavily and the demand is also good. Violets have been scarce at times, as the single ones have been almost a failure here for the last few weeks. The demand for potted plants has been heavy, with a good supply on hand. Trade for Valentine's day was the heaviest on record. Everything was cleaned up in fine shape. Various Notes. The Fifth Avenue Floral Co. is doing a nice business in its cramped and torn-up quarters. Inside of another week a decided change will be seen, as the room will be much better than
