It was suggested on p. 183 that the water against the edge of the continental shelf at these depths exhibited a southerly movement, and therefore it is interesting to amplify our own results from some stations of the 'Meteor' (Wattenberg, 1933) to the north and south of the region. These are plotted in Fig. 46 and show a still wider contrast between the stations in the north and in the south. The positions of the 'Meteor' stations are shown in Table 10.
