Though commonly reared, the species is not frequently collected. In our experience it frequents overgrown fields and the edges of woods but is not in dense woods. This species is in the eastern and Gulf States and in Ontario. It is adult throughout the growing season. A large variety of cater- pillars in galls, nuts, burrows, and cases serve as hosts. 4.
