The Teppa-kulam, 1858, Albumen silver print from waxed paper negative, Image: 26 x cm (10 1/4 x 14 3/4 in.), Photographs, Linnaeus Tripe (British, Devonport (Plymouth Dock) 1822–1902 Devonport), Tripe was a career military officer in India and, in the late 1850s, government photographer to the Madras Presidency. In just five years he made nearly one thousand views of India and Burma.
