OFFICERS OF THE ARMY AND NAVY (regular). COLONEL DELANCEY FLOYD-JONES, (retired). Colonel Delancey Floyd-Jones was born, 1826, in( jueens County, State of New York. He was graduatedat the l!. S. Military Academy in the Class of graduating he was appointed to the Seventh Regi-ment of Infantry, then serving in Mexico under GeneralTaylor, which he proceeded to join in September of thatyear. After a few months service with General Taylorsarmy, he was promoted to the Fourth Regiment of In-fantry, which was transferred to Worths division of (ren-eial Scotts army, and formed the advance in the landing,and at the siege of Vera Cruz. Alter the surrender ofthat city, his company formed a part of the garrison ofSan Juan dUHoa. The regiment proceeded with the army en route for theCity nl Mexico, and for a time formed a part of the gar-rison of the Castle of Perote, and the city of Floyd-Jones took- part in the various en-■ ments
