Chambord (41)August in the heart of the largest enclosed wooded park in Europe (5441 ha), it was erected by Francis I of France between 1519 and 1547. Listed ancient monument since 1840, UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1981 and "public institution of industrial and commercial nature" (EPIC) since 2005.
