Thepublic records inform us that John Robertson camefrom England and settled at Salisbury, Mass., andthat he was killed by the Indians at that place , 1676. Also, that Wm. Robertson came from Eng-land and settled in Concord, Mass., as early as 1670,and that both of these left many descendants. Harrison D. Robertson was probably a descendantof one of these families. He was born at Hopkinton(old village) in 1806. His fathers name was John,and his mother was a Darling. Mr. Robertson cameto Warner when a youth or young man, and engagedin the mercantile business, which occupied his atten-tion, more or less, throuorh life. He also carried on. o^^^^ -M- TOWN EECORDS. 393 the coopering business on an extensive scale. Hewas one of Warners most active and influential mena great many years, and was much in public life. Heheld the office of post-master fourteen years, of repre-sentative four years, and of moderator and selectmana great number of years. His first wife was a daughter of Hon. BenjaminEvans, and his second (who survives him) a daughterof Dudley Bailey. He died in 1862, aged 56, leavingone son,—John E. Robertson, now of Concord. H. Carroll, of Warner, is his grand-daughter.
