CARPAL TUNNEL, SURGERY

Photo essay at Alleray-Labrouste clinic, Paris, France. Endoscopic surgery of carpal tunnel. Carpal tunnel syndrome is due to the compression of the median nerve of the wrist. The intervention consists in opening the carpal tunnel (by sectionning the anterior ligament) so as to increase the diameter of the canal and then release the median nerve that was squeezed. The surgeon undertakes a small incision to pass the endoscope.
