Trade during the last two weeks has been quite good, most of the stock going into funeral work. A great deal of Stock has also been used for school njommencements and weddings, Boses ind carnations are plentiful, but both Are showing the effects of the warm Weather. Plenty of good valley, sweet peas and Easter lilies are coming in and find a ready sale. Smilax and as- paragus are scarce. Various Notes. Honaker the Florist had a narrow es- cape from being burned out May 24, at the time of the destruction of the plant of the McCormiek Lumber Co., ad- joining the greenhouses. Only the prompt work and the greenhouse force saved the range. The force at the John A. Keller es- tate has been busy of late with bedding stock. The houses are pretty well cleaned out. Spencer peas from this establishment are the best to be found in this market. Roses and carnations are plentiful and of good quality, Michler Bros. Co. reports a busy spring in all branches and especially in landscape work. The new house, in- tended for roses, is completed. Keller Florist has had his hands full with funeral and commencement work of late. Several orders are on file for weddings in the next few days. Mr. Keller reports business good in general. Kelley & Current are sending a fine lot of longiflorum lilies to this mar- ket. Thousands of bedding plants have been disposed of during the last few weeks by this firm. A visit to the State Asylum for the Insane found the grounds in fine shape, the bedding out having been finished some time ago. August Le Clere de- serves much credit for his work. J. F. Keller, manager of the John A. Keller estate, is receiving congratula- tions. It's a girl this time. The display of hardy flowering shrub- bery, peonies, iris, roses, etc., seen in this vicinity this spring has been the best for several seasons. Anders Rasmussen, of New Alb
