Plaque of massacre of houndreds greeks by turks in 1824 on Elafonissi islet near southeast tip of greek island of Crete


Elafonissi is a small islet on the southwest of greek island Crete. There is a one of the most beautiful beach in Europe. Also there is a many endemic spieces of plants and aminals. In 1824 there was a massacre of houndreds of women and childrens by Turks. According the legend the red tint of sand on Elafonissi beach is from blood of killed Greeks.
