View NW of the Norman tower & two-storeyed timber belfry with a pyramidal roof at St Michael & All Angels' Church, Kerry, Powys, Wales, UK. It was restored in 1881 by G. E. Street & then A. W. Blomfield. In 1176 both the sees of St David's & St Asaph claimed the right to reconsecrate the newly rebuilt church: Giraldus Cambrensis arrived first & had the bells rung to warn the Bishop of St Asaph he was too late, undeterred he entered the church & each bishop excommunicated the other. The local people ruled for St David's, but this decision was reversed in favour of St Asaph in 1849.
