The Royal Air Force is counting down the days before their Panavia Tornado GR4 fighter bombers go out of service in mid March. One Tornado, ZA601 flying with the callsign FANG02, carried out a practice ILS (Instrument Landing System) approach at London Southend Airport, which will possibly be the last time a Tornado visits this airport. ILS allows aircraft to land at airports in bad visibility. The RAF has less than 20 Tornadoes left in service
