New Golden Self=Blanching Celery. This is the best Celery in cultivation, as has been abundantly proved by thousands of market gardeners and amateurs to whom we have supplied the seed. THE GOLDEN SELF-BLANCHING, first introduced in America by us in 1884, has fulfilled all that we claimed for it. It cannot be too highly recommended. The beautiful appearance of the plant, with its close habit, compact growth, and straight, vigorous stalks, is faithfully shown in the illustration. The ribs are perfectly solid, crisp, brittle, and of delicious flavor, surpassed by no other variety, while it has the decided merit of being self-blanching to a very remarkable degree. Without banking up or any cover- ing whatever, even the outer rbs become of a handsome, fresh, yellowish-white color. The heart is large, solid, and of a beautiful, rich, golden-yellow color. The leaves also are of a beautiful golden-yellow after the plant has been bleached, which adds greatly to its handsome appearance when prepared for the table. No variety can surpass, if, indeed, equal, the Golden Self-Blanching in striking appearance and delicious flavor. Per pkt. 10 cts.; h oz. 20 cts.; per oz. 30 cts.; I' lb 85 cts.; per lb $, postpaid.
