A SIMPLE DRYING RACK FOR FILMS By AMIN BOUTROS, to the Medical and Surgical Group of Denver DENVER, COLORADO Xl/ITH the transition from plates to films many of us were put to it to dis-cover suitable substitutes for some of theconveniences of plate handling that were ac-quired by years of acquaintance with theplate. For example, I for one missed theplate drying rack, or rather, its substitute, and it was months before I hit upon a plan(now in use a year) that has so far provedquite satisfactory. At this late date it mayprove of value to those who are still contriv-ing drying devices. It consists of a single dressed piece of 1^4by 3 inch lumber. Three-sixteenth inch holes. are drilled in its entire length, 2 inches apartand at an angle of 15 to 20 degrees, so thatthe holders are readily hooked in the holesof the rack as in Figure i. The rack may bemade any length desired and fastened overa sink or wash-tank or whatever othermeans are used to catch the drippings fromthe film. In much the same way perpendicularholes can be drilled in a cabinet to store theholders while not in use, with the advantageof picking them out one by one without theloss of time caused by disentangling halfthe holders in your possession (Fig. 2).
