Keep away from the dust legs andmanhole covers on gas mains, from gasburners and air inlet doors, when thefurnace is sticking and liable to slip. Becareful when you open an air door to seehow the gas is burning; if too much gasis turned on, or if the eheckerwork isdirty, the gas may flash back into yourface. Keep and warn others away fromthese places; no one should handle burn-ers, doors, or valves unless directed bythe stove tender. Do not tighten any. FIG. 18.
