Dr William Hunter, Scottish anatomist and obstetrician, (1870). Hunter (1718-1783), the older brother of the famed physiologist and surgeon John Hunter, became Physician Extraordinary to Queen Charlotte in 1764. He ran his own school of anatomy in Covent Garden, London, became the first Professor of Anatomy at the Royal Academy in 1768 and was made President of the Medical Society in 1781.
