Palestinian youth hurl rocks at Israeli soldiers (not seen) during clashes with Israeli forces in the West Bank city of Hebron. Intense clashes between Palestinian youth and Israeli forces broke out in the West Bank city of Hebron, near the center of the city, known as Bab Al-Zawiye. The clashes followed the funeral of 19-year-old Muhammad Fares Abdullah al-Jaabari. The Palestinian youth was shot and killed by Israeli forces after he had allegedly stabbed an Israeli border guard in Kiryat Arba, an illegal Israeli settlement only kilometers away from Hebron. Al-Jaabri’s funeral was only hours after another Palestinian youth, 20-year-old Amjad Hatem al-Jundi, from the nearby town of Yatta, was also laid to rest. Both Palestinian men were shot and killed by Israeli soldiers in separate incidents. Al-Jaabri was shot and killed after he allegedly stabbed an Israeli border guard in Kiryat Arba, an illegal Israeli settlement only kilometers away from Hebron. Al-Jundi allegedly stabbed a soldier near the illegal Jewish settlement of Kiryat Gat in the Occupied West Bank. The two Palestinian men’s funerals were the second and third funerals of the day. Another funeral was held in Eastern Jerusalem, in the Palestinian refugee camp of Shu’fat. 24-year-old Ahmad Jamal Salah’s funeral was held in the early morning. Salah was shot and killed by Israeli forces during clashes in the camp during the most recent cycle of intense violence between Palestinians and Israelis. To date, 20 Palestinians have died, including four Palestinian youths under the age 16. Four Israelis have also been killed during the recent violence, including two illegal Israeli Jewish settlers who were gunned down inside the West Bank, near Nablus.
