Five planes in formation, viewed from the air at an altitude of 3000 feet. The photograph was taken at a Naval Air Station, Naval Barracks in Key West, Florida. The planes in the formation were flying at 2000 feet, while the camera was at 3300 feet. The censorship and release of the photograph were done on March 22, 1918, by the War College Division Laboratory.
