A Roman greave with inscription, 2nd/3rd century Embossed brass. Sparsely decorated greave with a slightly raised mid rib. Offset borders with holes for fastening the strap rings. A fixture on top for attaching a hinge for the knee-guard. The inscription "RVG" on the left rim along with a "T"-shaped mark. Length 33 cm. Weight 195 g. The metal is very well preserved, cracks at the lower end and on the sides.
