He married,in 1886, Helen, only daughter of General Richard Hamilton, At the sale of the prints, etchings, etc., belonging to Charles Kirk-patrick Sharpe of Hoddam, which took place in Edinburgh in June 185 1,I purchased a series of prettily executed pen-and-ink miniatures on vellum,which had been sold some years previously, in Manor Place, Edinburgh, atthe sale of the effects of Miss Seton, aunt of Sir Henry-John Seton, sixthBaronet, of Abercorn, which are now in the possession of Sir Bruce calling for her surviving sister, at 25 St. Bernards Crescent, Edinburgh,I found that the old lady remembered the miniatures, but could give noparticulars regarding them. Neither of these ladies—who must have beendaughters of Sir Henry Seton, fourth Baronet—appears in the precedinggenealogy. I have every reason to believe that these miniatures, two ofwhich are reproduced on the following page, are portraits of members ofth
