Springhill Eco-Housing, cohousing, social community housing. Stroud Gloucestershire. England, UK.

Springhill Eco cohousing was set up September 2000 by David Michael. It is a housing community where pedestrians come first. All cars are parked on the periphery freeing up space for motor free streets for community members. Each member of the community has a self contained house or flat with the opportunity to met or eat together in a large communal house. The 34 homes are timber framed low polluting and energy saving in design. Cohousing started in Denmark but is popular in the USA and other european countries.
