SPITHEAD, ENGLAND. - DUNKIRK VETERAN SUNK - HMS GRAFTON (H89), A G-CLASS DESTROYER BUILT BY AT WOOLSTON, SOUTHAMPTON IN 1935, SEEN HERE AT THE MAY CORONATION REVIEW, WAS ATTACKED AND DAMAGED BY GERMAN U-BOAT U62 DURING OPERATION DYNAMO (RELIEF OF DUNKIRK). HER CAPTAIN CMDR. ROBINSON WAS KILLED ALONG WITH SEVERAL OF THE CREW. GRAFTON WAS SUNK BY GUNFIRE FROM IVANHOE AFTER REMAINING CREW HAD BEEN TAKEN OFF.
