At one point on the S. side, where the outer masonryhas been destroyed, the jointing of the stones may be material used is an inferior clayey kind of limestone quarriedneighbourhood. The pyramid may be ascended withoutdanger, but on no account without the help of the Beduins,as the surface is crumbling and treacherous. (On one occasion,during the period of the inundation, M.
