Three-quarter figure of the Virgin, seated andholding in her lap with her left arm the Infant Christ, whosemovements she restrains with her right hand. The Virgin isdressed in a girdled robe, the Christ is nude. Both figures areuncolored save that the haloes, the Virgins girdle and the cuffsof her tight-fitting sleeves are gilded. The background ispainted blue. In an old carved and painted frame. Diameter of relief, 27!/o inches; with frame, 38 inches.
