COLOUR CJKCLE 219 THE CIIAKT The pupils paints should ho in good condition, quite clean, ami well moistenedhefore the lesson begins. To colour the chart the brush is first filled with yellow, and the sev^n uppercircles, that is, the one for yellow and three on each side of it, are covered withvellow at full strength. No more yellow will he required. The brush is now cleanedthoroughly, then filled with red, and the circles for red, red-violet, and violet arecovered with red at full strength. This colour is weakened slightly with water, andthe circle for blue-violet is covered with it. The same slightly weakened colour isfloated over the yellow in the circle which is to be red-orange. The colour in thebrush is weakened still more and floated over the yellow in the circle which is to beorange, and weakened still further to cover the yellow for the yellow-orange more red will be required. After the brush has Ijeen thoroughly cleansed, it isfilled with blue at ful
