Several business blockswere torn down, the river bank was built up with material dredgedfrom the river, and today it is a delightful spot near the center of ourmain business district. The first stores started bythe Trombles and Captain Pierce were followed by numberless others,so that today the retail stores of the city rank with the best in this.
