Here he was married, Februaryli, 18G1, to Miss Anna Eliza Tutwiler. seconddaughter of Prof. Henry Tutwiler, the distin-guished educator of Greene Springs. The Doctor first established himself near New-bern. this county. In lsCi->. he entered the armyat Fort Morgan as surgeon, and remained in thatposition until the capture of the Fort. After leaving tlie service he movedto (Jreensboro, where he lias since enjoyed a lucra-tive practice in his profession. He is a member of the State and County Medi-cal Societies, and is recognized as a physician ofthe first rank. His wife died at Greensboro,August II, 1SS7. The children born to them wereeight, of whom are living four daughters and twosons. The family belong to the PresbyterianOhurch, and the Doctor is a member of the Ma-sonic fraternity. RICHARD INGE.
