Brooklyn, NY - November 16 2020: The stainless steel egg-shaped structures house the sludge digesters at the the Newtown Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant in Brooklyn, NY. These were designed by Polshek Partnership, now known as Ennead Architects. Digester Eggs handle million gallons of “sludge” and food-waste daily from across Brooklyn and much of Manhattan.
