. 1 Battalion (attached 11 Battalion), The King's (Liverpool Regiment) Lt Tisdall was a former Classics Scholar of Bedford and Peterhouse, Cambridge. He was commanding B Company when he was reported missing, aged 23, at Guillemont on 8 August 1916 during the Battle of the Somme. He is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.
