Blind black rhino is very friendly KENYA HEART-MELTING images show a highly rare blind Black rhino being cared for by devoted staff at Kenya?s Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Blind since he was very young, 29-year-old Baraka lost his eyesight in a fight with another rhino and contracted a cataract. Even though black rhinos are known for being very cranky and not good around any other rhinos or humans, Baraka defies these stereotypes. According to staff, he is happy to be petted, probably because he recognises that this gets him more of his favourite food - carrots. The beautiful images were taken by wildlife photographer Michelle Guillermin (62) while she was leading a safari group in Kenya. ?Baraka is famous in Pejeta. This 1,760-3,080 lbs creature is very friendly and loves to interact with people,? she said. ?He has 24/7 care by the staff at Ol Pejeta and lives in a safe enclosure. ?I loved spending time with him and taking pictures of him from just a few feet away. ?In a way, Baraka is very inspiring. Despite all the difficulties he faces, he is still very kind and ENDS
