Bishop's Palace and St Magnus Cathedral in Kirkwall on Orkney Islands in Scotland were built from 1137. At that time the palace housed the cathedral's first bishop William the old. Als 1137 mit dem Bau der in Kirkwall auf den Orkney-Inseln begonnen wurde, wurde gleich daneben die Bischofsresidenz gebaut, in der dann der erste Bischof der Kathedrale Wilhelm der Ältere lebte.
