Ice Floes on Spey Dam Inverness-shire

Built by British Alcan both the Dam and Reservoir form part of the Lochaber Hydro Electric Scheme. The Dam, constructed after the first world war, was built across the River Spey 2 miles upstream (West) of Laggan Village to create the reservoir. A network of pipes and underground tunnels enable water flows to be controlled to serve the needs of the smelter plants in Kinlochleven and Fortwilliam
