The eight class rooms in the buildingshall be furnished with galvanized ironheat flues for conveying the warm airfrom the main duct in the basement tothe first and second floors in the build-ing. These flues shall be of the sizeshown by the plans, made of No. 26 galvanized iron, and shall be sup-plied with circular deflectors at the topso that the air will move freely from themain ducts into the rising flues and intothe school Fig. 5.—Front of Heating Stacks. There shall be furnished and placed inposition six galvanized iron exhaustflues for removing the foul air from thefour new class rooms, and the twoclass rooms which are on the sec- ond floor of the old flues shall be made of U. S. gauge galvanized iron, andshall extend from the floor of the schoolrooms to a point six inches above the at-tic floor. In the old building is a vent flue whichmay be utilized to vent two rooms on thefirst floor, if it is found practical to placea partition in it for its full length; other-wise, it will serve only one room, and aseparate flue should be provided for theother room. Ducts marked HI are hotair ducts leading to the first storey, andthose marked H2 lead to the secondstorey. Vent flues are designated byVb, VI and V2, according to whetherthey take their air from the basement,first or second storey. Vent registersare located just above the
