Baobab tree (Adansonia digitata). Person standing near a baobab tree to demonstrate its size. The baobab tree can grow to heights of around thirty metres. It thrives in arid scrubland due to its large trunk that stores water. The fibrous bark of the baobab can be up to 15 centimetres thick and is used to make rope.
