The winter of ISOS-fl'J I lost 20 colonies that I built up on the nucleus plan. June lid, 1899, we had a hard freeze which killed all the bloom, and in August I fed the 20 colonies, expecting'a'flow in the fall, which we did not get. The season being extremely dry. all colonies filled the hives with honey gathered from onion bloom, of which there was a nice crop planted for seed.
