In this photograph, Major Peter M. Heiman of Marine Light Helicopter Squadron-367 is being welcomed back from his 1,000th combat mission in Vietnam. Heiman's squadron commander, Lieutenant Colonel Tobert King Jr., and Colonel Bruce I. Matheson, the commanding officer of Marine Aircraft Group-36, surprise him with a cake to celebrate the achievement.
