Exposure to ultraviolet light from the sun is thought to cause most melanomas but there is evidence to suggest that the use of sunbeds may also increase the risk. Melanoma is common in people under the age of 50, which is early compared to many other types of cancer. Magnification: x1750 when printed at 10 cm wide.
