This is the monsoon season in Nepal and the skies are often filled with amazing cloud formations forced high into the air by the Himalayan foothills This temple lies to the east of Kathmandu on a hill above the Bagmati river where it passes through a gorge Taken in August 2005 using an IR technique to give a dramatic dark sky the result is the same as traditional b and w infra red film producing a surreal grainy image with darkened skies extra contrast and often a darker slightly ethereal mood Scenery and landscapes taken with this method are portrayed in a more powerful and bold graphic manner Foliage is often turned white and blue skies become black
