Lizardfish with coral. This fish (family Synodontidae) lives in sandy or muddy areas, and sometimes lies partly buried on the seafloor. Lizardfish eat other fish, holding their prey with their many sharp teeth. This species possesses pigments in its skin which cause it to emit a fluorescent glow under blue or ultraviolet light. In fish this may be a means of camouflage, warning or sexual signal. Photographed in the Red Sea, Egypt.
