2 February 2013, Aberystwyth, Wales. On the same spot, supporters commemmorate fifty years since the first ever act of civil disobedience by the Welsh Language Society, Cymdeithas yr Iaith Gymraeg, on Trefechan Bridge, Aberystwyth. Current protests target the Welsh Assembly Government for their perceived failure to act in the interests of the language, following disappointing census results. Bilingual signs - the total lack of such signs being the reason behind the original 1963 protests, can be seen on the approach to the bridge. Bilingual signs are now required by law in Wales.
