The cog railway in Peloponnese Greece

The cog railway was a daring idea of Greek Prime Minister Charilaos Trikoupis, ultimately designed by French specialists in 1889. The construction lasted seven years and was particularly difficult due to the inaccesible terrain. It is the unique landscape that makes the project that interesting. The duration of the trip is about one hour, starts from Diakofto village and ends at Kalavryta and runs through the Vouraikos gorge.
