German and Austrian prisoners being transported in a truck to a prison stockade in Ancemont, France. The photograph was taken on September 14, 1918 by Sgt. Dunn. One of the prisoners, Nicolas Gobna, age 21, is from Alsace and has mixed German and French parents. He belonged to the 55th German Machine Gun Battalion attached to an Austrian Division. The image passed the censor and was issued as document number 24386.
