African Spur-Thigh Tortoise


The African Spur-Thigh Tortoise lives in dry regions, woodlands, and semi-desert grass and shrub-lands. It is common throughout Central and northern Africa. It eats assorted fruits and vegetables. A favorite is the leaves of the morning glory. Females grow to 26 inches, while males grow to 35 inches. This tortoise is able to run and burrow quite well It can live for up to 100 years.
